Frequently asked questions

Beyond the Cycle is a charity dedicated to supporting girls and women with menstrual health conditions in UK education and their careers. We create comprehensive support systems including safe spaces, emergency resources, educational programmes, and peer networks to ensure that periods never pause potential.
We support students with any menstrual health condition affecting their education, including endometriosis, PCOS, adenomyosis, heavy menstrual bleeding, severe period pain, and PMDD. You don’t need a formal diagnosis to access our support: if your periods are affecting your ability to participate in education, we’re here to help.
Students can access our resource trolleys and safe spaces by speaking to any member of pastoral care staff, their form tutor, or the school nurse.
No. Our pilot programme is completely free for participating schools. We provide fully stocked resource trolleys, staff training, educational materials, and ongoing support at no cost. We handle all restocking and programme management throughout the pilot period.
You can suggest Beyond the Cycle to your daughter’s school by forwarding our contact details to the headteacher or pastoral care team. You can also advocate for better menstrual health policies at the school and use our educational resources to support your daughter at home. Contact us and we can provide information to share with the school.
Whilst our main programmes are school-based, we can still help by providing information about how to advocate for yourself with healthcare providers, connecting you with relevant support organisations like Endometriosis UK or Verity, and offering guidance on managing symptoms. Follow us on Instagram @beyondthecycle.uk for educational content and community support.
Absolutely. Students’ use of Beyond the Cycle resources is completely confidential. We work with schools to ensure privacy and dignity in accessing support, and we never share information about which students use our services. Your menstrual health is private, and we respect that.
There are many ways to help: donate financially through our website, donate products for our resource kits (period products, underwear, heat pads), volunteer your time and skills, share our mission on social media, connect us with schools or healthcare professionals, or simply spread awareness about menstrual health in education. Every bit of support makes a genuine difference!
No, we don’t provide medical advice or diagnosis. We provide educational information about menstrual health conditions, practical support for managing symptoms at school, and help students navigate the healthcare system to access appropriate medical care from qualified professionals. We always encourage students experiencing concerning symptoms to see their GP.
We’re currently operating in London schools and corporate companies in the city, with plans to expand across the UK. If you’re interested in bringing Beyond the Cycle to your area or school, please get in touch. We’re building a model that can be replicated nationally to support young women everywhere.
